Table leaders Mlandege FC earn late draw against Zimamoto

Suleiman Kidawa netted a late goal to ensure Mlandege FC collected a vital point in the 1-1 draw against Zimamoto FC in 2024/2025 PBZ Premier League tie played on Sunday.

Seif Mmadi gave Zimamoto the lead after 22 minutes in a match played at the Cairo Stadium Kiwengwa.

But the table leaders continued to search for goals as Zimamoto played a highly defensive game. However, Kidawa made sure Mlandege FC picked the vital point when he leveled matters three minutes from time.

In the other matches played Mwembe Makumbi City FC drew 1-1 against JKU FC. Robert Pius converted a 34th minute penalty, but Tarik Mohd Mkonga replied from the spot after added time to make it 1-1.

Junguni United FC also registered a hard fought 3-2 win against Chipukizi FC. Salum Athumani netted a barce, while Sharifu Mohamed scored the other for Junguni United FC, while Abdallah Nasor and Haruna Thomas were on target for Chipukizi FC.

Action continues on Monday with third placed Mafunzo FC facing KVZ FC. Mlandege FC leads the 16-team PBZ Premier League table with 31 points from 16 matches played, while Mwembe Makumbi City FC are second with 29 points.
