Zanzibar for CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship 2026

The Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA) has included Zanzibar in the CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship 2026. “Although Zanzibar had been drawn, after consultations it was decided Zanzibar are placed in Group B to make four teams and we are happy to have them,” says the CECAFA Manager of Competitions, Yusuf Mossi. Tanzania Premier League side Simba SC are the winners of the Muungano Cup 2026. Simba SC needed a lat penalty in the extra 30 minutes after the allotted 90 minutes to win the final at the New Amaan Complex in Zanzibar on Wednesday night. Three Zanzibar officials attend CAF Match Commissioner’s Workshop

Three officials from the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) attended a CAF Match Commissioner’s Workshop that was ushering in a panel for the 2026-2027 cycle. The workshops organized in four different groups placed using the geographical and linguistic criteria took place April 13-27th at the headquarters of the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) in Egypt.
