Abdul-Latif Ali Yassin elected new ZFF president

The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) General Assembly has elected Abdul-Latif Ali Yassin as the new president.
During the elections held at the Mafunxo Hall on Sunday, Abdul Latif collected 16 votes, while Suleiman Shaban Suleiman collected 8 votes.
“I am happy to be elected the new President of ZFF. Let us work together to improve and develop football in Zanzibar,” said the new ZFF President.
The other candidates who contested for the position of ZFF presidency include; Suleiman Mahmoud Jabir, Haji Shehe Hamd, Mudrik Majaliwa Mwinyi and Abdulkadir Mohmed Abdulkadir.
Before the elective assembly Omar Ahmed Awadh was the acting president of ZFF since the resignation of Seif Kombo Pandu.
Pandu who had been been ZFF president for two years resigned on February 17th.
Currently Zanzibar only competes in tournaments organized by the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (Cecafa) where they are members. But teams from Zanzibar also compete in the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.
