Azam FC, Singida Black Stars FC draw in NMB Mapinduzi Cup

Tanzania Premier League sides Azam FC and Singida Black Stars FC have settled for a 1-1 draw in a Group A match of the NMB Mapinduzi Cup 2026.
After a goalless first half, Japhte Kitambala Bora gave Singida Black Stars FC the lead after 70 minutes at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar on Tuesday.
Five minutes later Japteh Guede leveled matters for Azam FC. Singida Black Stars FC remain top of the log after they started their campaign with a 3-1 win against Mlandege FC few days ago.
Guest side Uganda Revenue Authority FC also recorded a 1-0 win against Mlandege FC in another Group A match played at the same venue.
Fred Amaku netted the lone goal for new coach Hussein Mbalangu’s team after only six minutes.
Action continues on Friday with Azam FC facing Mlandege FC. Simba SC will start their campaign against Muembe Makumbi FC in a Group B match on Saturday, the same day Singida Black Stars battle Uganda Revenue Authority FC.
NMB Bank are the sponsors of the tournament that has attracted 10 teams this year. The final will be played on January 13th at the Gombani Stadium.
