The Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports, Dr. Riziki Pembe Juma has encouraged the Zanzibar Queens to keep working hard at the on-going CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship.

Hon. Pembe Juma watched the match in which Zanzibar Queens lost 3-0 in a Group B match played at the KMC Stadium in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

“I am happy that the team put up a good performance and played their hearts out. We need to keep working hard and building our teams,” added the Minister.

She encouraged the players to be disciplined and continue working hard.

Hussain Ahmada, General Secretary of the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) also thanked the Minister for coming to support the team. “Having the Minister come to support the team and after speak to them means a lot,” added Ahmada.

The Zanzibar Queens lost their opening match 1-0 to South Sudan and 3-0 to Uganda in the second match. The team will face Djibouti in their last Group B match on Thursday.
