KMKM SC suffer home defeat to Al Ahly Tripoli in CAF Confederation Cup

Zanzibar Cup winners KMKM SC kick started their 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup campaign on a losing note on Saturday evening.
KMKM SC suffered a 3-0 home defeat to Al Ahly Tripoli from Libya in a first leg first preliminary round match played at the New Amaan Stadium in Zanzibar.
Hamdou Mohamed Elhouni gave the visiting side the lead after the KMKM SC defending line failed to coordinate well.
Former Young Africans SC star player Fiston Mayele made it 2-0 two minutes later, before Hocine Dehiri increased the lead after 27 minutes.
The KMKM SC resorted to the defensive approach as they limited the visitors opportunities to attack at goal. The return leg will be played on September 12th at the Tripoli Stadium in Tripoli, Libya.
The winner over two legs will face the winner between Al Hilal Alsahil (Sudan) and Welwalo Adigrat (Ethiopia) in the second preliminary round.
