The head coach of KVZ FC, Hababuu Ali Omar has said his team must change tactics in their second Group C match of the on-going CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026.

After losing their opening match 2-0 to Rayon Sport, Ali Omar says they must change approach in the second match.

“We know Al Hilal is a strong side and we must play an approach which will work for us. We shall employ a different strategy against them,” said the KVZ FC coach during a press conference held at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Tuesday.

The coach made it clear that playing in the regional tournament has come at the right time because it will help them prepare well ahead of the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League that start in September.

“We shall get the best match practice in this tournament and we are taking lessons from every match,” added Ali Omar.

The CECAFA Kagame Cup has attracted 12 teams with a cash prize of US$60,000 up for the teams that finish in the top three.
