Sudan’s Al Hilal too strong for KVZ in CECAFA Kagame Cup

KVZ FC has lost a second straight match at the on-going CECAFA Kagame Cup 2026.
The Zanzibar Premier League champions suffered a 4-0 defeat to Sudan’s Al Hilal SC in a Group C in a match played at the Kigali Pele Stadium on Wednesday.
Skipper Abdelhman Mohamed Yousif and Ahmed M’bareck gave Al Hilal SC an early lead. Babe Diarra had a shot for KVZ that missed by inches after 40 minutes.
In the second half the Sudan giants had substitutes Samura Ansumana and Akire Temple Taiwo get their names on the score sheet.
Hababuu Ali Omar, the KVZ FC coach said that his players failed to tame the Al Hilal SC team. “They were much fitter than my team. We need to prepare now for the last Group C match against Tusker FC,” added the coach.
In second Group C match, Rayon Sport FC picked a slim 1-0 win against Kenya’s Tusker FC who also recorded a second straight defeat.
