The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has placed Mlandege SC to face Ethiopia Insurance in the first preliminary round of the 2025/2026 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

In the draw conducted in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania on Saturday, CAF placed the Ethiopian champions to host the first leg between September 19-21, and the return leg will take place September 26-28^th.

Victory the Zanzibar Premier League champions will see them battle the winner between APR FC (Rwanda) and defending champions Pyramids FC (Egypt) in the second preliminary round.

A record 62 teams registered for the competition with highly ranked teams Al Ahly (Egypt) and Mamelodi Sundowns (South Africa) exempted from the first preliminary round.

Meanwhile, Zanzibar’s Cup winners KMKM SC will face AS Port (Djibouti) in the first preliminary round of the 2025/2026 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.

 In-case KMKM SC go through they will face the winner between El Merriekh SC Bentiu (South Sudan) and Azam FC (Tanzania) in the second preliminary round.
