Zanzibar to open against Kenya in Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup

The Cecafa U-20 Challenge Cup will take place in Uganda from September 21st to October 5th.
Zanzibar will open their campaign against Kenya on September 22 in a Group B match at the Fufa Technical Centre, Njeru.
The tournament sponsored by FIFA will attract 11 teams with Group A based in the Northern town of Gulu and Groups B and C based in Njeru.
“We are set to have a competitive tournament. All teams have confirmed except Rwanda who have a very busy schedule,” said Nicholas Musonye, the Secretary General of the Council of East and Central African Football Associations (Cecafa)
Zanzibar will take on Ethiopia in their second group game on September 24th before winding up against Tanzania on September 26th.
The best three teams in Group A and B and two from Group C will qualify for the quarter final stage.
Group A – Uganda, Sudan, Eritrea, Djibouti
Group B – Kenya, Ethiopia, Tanzania, Zanzibar
Group C – Burundi, South Sudan, Somalia
