Mlandege FC ejects Singida Black Stars in Muungano Cup

Zanzibar Premier League side Mlandege FC have ejected Singida Black Stars FC from the on-going Muungano Cup 2026.
The Zanzibar giants stopped Singida Black Stars 2-1 in a quarter final match played at the New Amaan Complex on Thursday night.
Daudi Mishamo gave the CECAFA reigning champions the lead after 9 minutes.
But Mlandege FC cheered on by the home fans fought back strongly to score two goals before the interval.
Omariy Samatta leveled matters for Mlandege FC after 28 minutes, while Mussa Mbappe made it 2-1 going for the break.
In the second half the two teams created more scoring opportunities, but failed to find the net.
Another Tanzania Premier League side Simba SC managed to qualify for the semi-final stage after seeing off Mafunzo FC 1-0 in the second match. Selemani Mwalimu netted the lone goal.
Action will continue on Saturday with Cup winners Young Africans SC facing Azam FC in the first semi-final match, while Mlandege FC take on Simba SC.
