League champions KVZ FC to face KMKM in Community Shield match on August 23
PBZ Premier league reigning champions KVZ FC will face KMKM SC in the Zanzibar Community Shield match on August 23rd, 2026.
The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) made the announcement on Wednesday during a press conference held at the headquarters.
Mohamed Kabwanga, the ZFF Information Officer says the season opening match will take place at the Mau Stadium.
“Fans will pay entry fee of 2,000 Shillings and tickets will be sold via the N-Card system,” added Kabwanga.
The N-Card Marketing Officer Mohamed Yusuf stated that tickets are available at the ZFF offices, Mbuyu Mnene, TTCL Posta, Kijangwani, and Mau Stadium on match day.
The Community Shield match pits the Premier League champions KVZ FC and the Cup winners KMKM SC. The two teams will also represent Zanzibar in the 2026/2027 CAF competitions.
KVZ FC will face Swehly SC (Egypt) in the first preliminary round of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, while KMKM SC take on Al Ahly Tripoli (Libya) in the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round.
