Tanzania Premier League side Simba SC have arrived in Zanzibar ahead of their return leg of the 2024/2025 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup final.

The return leg against Morocco’s RS Berkane will be played at the renovated Amaan Stadium on Sunday. Berkane, newly crowned Moroccan Premier League champions triumphed 2-0 in the first leg few days ago.

It will be the first major final of a CAF competition that takes place  Zanizibar.

Upon arrival by ferry from Dar es salaam, the Simba SC team went straight to the hotel and later in the evening held a training session.

Hussein Ahmada, the General Secretary of the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) said it was a honour for Zanzibar to host the final of the CAF Confederation Cup. “It is also another opportunity for the Football loving people of Zanzibar to go and support Simba SC,” added Ahmada.

Meanwhile, the Simba SC coach Fadlu Davids has maintained that his team has what it takes to turn tables. “I am optimistic we can still perform better in the return leg,” says the coach.
