Zanzibar Premier League champions KVZ FC will face Al Swehly on Friday in the first leg of the first preliminary round of the 2026/2027 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League.

The match will take place Misurata Stadium, which was recently cleared by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to host the match.

Led by coach Hababuu Ali Omar, the KVZ FC side will be all out to try and get a good result before they return match at home in Zanzibar.

Fresh from playing in the regional CECAFA Kagame Cup in Rwanda last month, the KVZ FC team is expected to be at their best against an unknown Al Swehly side.

KVZ FC will look to some of their players like Agustino Atanas Chalamba, Mudrik Abdi Shehe and Hassan Kassim Hassan among others.

In-case KVZ FC eject the Libyan team over two legs, they will face the winner between Gaborone United (Botswana) and Tanzania’s Young Africans SC in the second preliminary round.
