NMB Bank finance Mapinduzi Cup for five years

NMB Bank are the new official sponsors of the Mapinduzi Cup.
The unveiling of the new sponsorship was held on Sunday at the New Amaan Hotel in Zanzibar.
Donatus Richard, the Head of Sales at NMB Bank said they are happy to associate with the Mapinduzi Cup.
“NMB has been part of the Mapinduzi Cup for more than a decade and this sponsorship reinforces our commitment to football development in Zanzibar and Tanzania,” he added.
NMB will also sponsor Fair Play Player of the Match awards throughout the competition, with cash prizes increasing from the group stage to the final.
The new five year agreement mans the tournament has now been rebranded and will be called the NMB Mpinduzi Cup through to 2030.
Riziki Pembe Juma, the Zanzibar Minister for Information, Culture, Arts and Sports thanked the sponsors and made it clear the sponsorship will help raise the profile of the tournament.
The NMB Mapinduzi Cup 2026 which kicks off later on Sunday has attracted 10 team from Zanzibar, Tanzania mainland and Uganda Revenue Autority FC from Uganda.
Group A: Mlandege, Azam FC, Singida Black Stars, URA FC
Group B: Simba SC, Muembe Makumbi City, Fufuni FC
Group C: Young Africans SC, KVZ FC and TRA United FC
