_{Zanzibar will host the Elective Ordinary Assembly of the Council of East and Central Africa Football Associations (CECAFA).}

_{The decision for Zanzibar to host the elective Assembly on January 6th, 2023 was reached on November 10th during a CECAFA Extra Ordinary Assembly held at the Ewa Hotel in Khartoum, Sudan.}

_{Auka Gecheo, the CECAFA Executive Director confirmed that the Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) has accepted to host the Assembly which will witness a new committee being elected.}

_{“We shall work together with ZFF to make sure that the Assembly is successful,” added Gecheo.}

_{Wallace Karia, also President of the Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) is the current CECAFA President after being elected in 2019 when the Assembly was held in Kampala, Uganda.}

_{The other outgoing executive members include; Francis Amin (South Sudan), Esayas Jira (Ethiopia), Abraham Esayas (Eritrea) and Gen. Jean Damascene Sekamana.}
