NBC Tanzania Premier League sides, Namungo FC and Azam FC picked wins in the on-going Mapinduzi Cup 2022 in Zanzibar.

In the first Group A match played yesterday at the Amaan Stadium Namungo FC stopped Yosso Boys FC 2-0 to register their second victory.

After a goalless first half, Sixtus Robert Sabilo gave Namungo Fc the lead, before Reliants Lusajo Mwakasugule made it 2-0 after 90 minutes. The win sends Namungo FC top of the group with six points.

In the second game Azam FC netted one goal to beat hard fighting Meli 4 City. Shaaban Idd Chilunda netted the lone goal after 13 minutes for the Azam FC team.

Action continues today with Simba Sc facing Selem View FC in a Group B match, before the defending champions Young Africans SC battle  Taifa Jang’ombe FC.

The Mapinduzi Cup is a played to commemorate Zanzibar’s Revolution day which is marked annually on January 12^th.
