The Zanzibar Queens have intensified preparations ahead of the regional CECAFA U-17 Women’s Championship 2026.

Eight team will take part in the tournament which runs June 13-23^rd in Dar es salaam, Tanzania.

Abdul-Mutik Haji, the Zanzibar Queens head coach has made it clear that the team has stepped up preparations ahead of their opening match against South Sudan on June 14^th.

“We have had few days of training, but the players are responding well,” added the coach.

Zanzibar have been placed in Group B alongside Uganda, South Sudan and Djibouti.

Group A has hosts Tanzania, Kenya, Somalia and Sudan. It will be the first time that Sudan and Somalia participate in this tournament.
