Uganda’s URA FC invited for Mapinduzi Cup 2026

Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club have been invited to participate in the Mapinduzi Cup 2026.

The organisers announced on Saturday that URA FC are so far the only foreign team that has been invited.

The Uganda Premier League side lifted the trophy in 2016 when they defeated Mtibwa Sugar FC 3-1 in the final.

Although eight teams have been announced to take part in the tournament from December 29th to January 13th, some changes will be announced in the next few days.

The Mapinduzi Cup is a tournament created to commemorate Zanzibar’s Revolution day which is marked annually on January 12th.

The format of the Mapinduzi Cup 2025 changed to national team where Zanzibar defeated Burkina Faso 2-1 in the final.

Tanzania Premier League side, Azam FC have won the Mapinduzi Cup a record five times, followed Simba SC who lifted the trophy three times.
