Kipanga FC to battle Tunisia’s Club Africain in Second Round

Zanzibar’s Kipanga FC will face Tunisia’s Club Africain in the second preliminary round of the 2022/2023 TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup.
The Zanzibar Cup winners ejected South Sudan’s Al Hilal Wau 4-3 on penalties last weekend.
The two teams had tied 2-2 on aggregate, but Kipanga FC proved the better side during penalties as they made history by qualifying for the second round.
Apart from Kipanga FC the other teams from the Council of East and Central Africa Football Association (CECAFA) region that will battle in the second round include Sudan’s Hilal Alsahil who will take on Pyramids (Egypt), while Ethiopia’s Fasil Ketema FC who ejected Geita FC (Tanzania) face CS Sfaxien (Tunisia).
Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC who got a bye into the second round because of their good ranking will take on Libya’s Al Akhdar SC. Rwanda’s AS Kigali will also battle in the second round.
