Zanzibar to attend CECAFA Elective Assembly in Djibouti

The Zanzibar Football Federation (ZFF) will be represented at the CECAFA Elective Assembly slated to take place February 7th, 2026 in Djibouti.
Jean Sseninde, the CECAFA Interim Executive Director announced that all the 12 members will attend the Assembly which will decide the next leadership of the regional body.
She disclosed that the date of the Assembly was decided during the CECAFA Executive meeting held on December 8th in Entebbe, Uganda after consultations with the Djibouti Football body.
Zanzibar will be represented at the Assembly by the ZFF President, Suleiman Mahmoud Jabir and General Secretary Hussein Ahmada Vuai.
Besides the elections, the Assembly will also discuss the CECAFA draft 2026 competitions calendar.
Alexandre Muyenge, President of the Burundi Football body is presently the Acting President of CECAFA.
The 12 members of CECAFA include; Burundi, Djibouti, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Rwanda, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Somalia, Sudan and Zanzibar.
